Dra. Teresa Núñez-Villaveirán earned her Bachelor's Degree in Medicine with Honors at the University of Navarre. She first specialized in Pediatrics at La Paz Hospital in Madrid. She then completed a one-year internship in General Surgery at the Metropolitan Group Hospital of the University of Illinois in Chicago. She then also specialized in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, again at La Paz Hospital, followed by a subspecialization as a fellow in Craniofacial Surgery, at the Cleveland Clinic and Akron Children's Hospital, in the United States.

She has participated in numerous conferences, congresses, and courses in her specialty, combining her clinical work with intense teaching and outreach activities. She defended her PhD project 'A Facial Transplant Model that Includes the Temporomandibular Joint', a thesis that received the Best Research Publication of the Year Award from the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery (ASMS). She has also visited some of the most prestigious plastic surgeons from around the world, which has allowed her to learn the most innovative, least invasive surgical techniques that achieve the best and most natural results. She is a leading authority in the practice of ultrasonic rhinoplasty, a surgery for which patients from all over Europe have passed through her hands.

She is an active member of the Spanish Society of Plastic Surgery (SECPRE); the Spanish Association of Microsurgery (AEM); the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS); the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) and national delegate and general secretary of the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (UEMS / EBOPRAS). She is also a reviewer for the most important international journals in the specialty (PRS, PRS GO and ASJ); and associate editor of the PRD Go Journal.
