Dr. Lloyd Nanhekhan obtained his Master’s Degree in Medicine at Leiden University in the Netherlands, passing the ARTS Dutch Medical Board Exam. He completed his Plastic Surgery residency at Maastricht University. He continued his studies and completed several Plastic Surgery fellowships and research programs at prestigious international hospitals such as the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City and the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, United States; the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Linkou, Taiwan; the Institut de la Main in Paris, France; and the Gent University Hospital in Belgium. He holds a degree in Surgical Leadership from Harvard University, Boston, USA. He held several medical posts throughout his prolific international career before settling in Barcelona: the UMC Hospital in Utrecht, the Rijnstate Hospital in Arnhem, the Maastricht University Medical Center+, the Valkenhorst Kliniek in Valkenburg, and the Elkerliek Ziekenhuis Medical Center in Helmond, in the Netherlands; the CHU Brugmann Hospital in Brussels, Belgium; the Aachen University Hospital and the Evang Kliniken Essen-Mitte in Germany; and the Surgical Subspecialties Institute at the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Nanhekhan has over 25 years of international experience in both Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Microsurgery, and was an associate professor of Plastic Surgery for 11 years at the University Hospital of Leuven, Belgium. He has served on the editorial board of some of the most prestigious medical journals, such as the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal, the Clinical Anatomy Journal, and the Hernia Journal. He has also completed countless international humanitarian service missions in India, Pakistan with Interplast, and in Surinam. He is a registered plastic surgeon at the Col·legi de Metges de Barcelona with number 61116 and is an active member of the Spanish Society of Plastic Surgery (SECPRE), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Royal Belgian Society of Plastic Surgeons (RBSPS), the Dutch Society of Plastic Surgeons (NVPC), and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
